Enjoy
the Wonderous Beauty of Deer Valley From the Sky by Blake Provo
It is impossible to dispute
the beauty of the mountains at the Deer Valley skiing resort and the close
area, but it is possible to be even more amazed by looking at them from
the air. There are several options that you can have if you are interested
in getting a bird's eye view of the wonderful area of Deer Valley. Whether
you only want a nice and slow run or an exciting powdery descent by ski;
you can have a good experience in the air above Deer Valley.
A beautiful, leisurely option
to take in the area is in a hot air balloon. Morning Star Balloons and
Park City Balloon Adventures are both local companies that offer balloon
tours. You need to wake up early to experience this wonderful way of flying.
Hot air balloon flights leave early in the day when there is few winds
and you get to take in the amazing sunrise.
Another form of scenic air
tour is operated by Park City Helitours. For a reasonable price, you might
book a seat on a helicopter tour to see this beautiful part of Utah from
the sky. Possible flyover destinations include the 2002 Olympic Venues,
Sundance, Bridal Veil Falls, and Mount Timpanogos. Charter flights are
given but a lot more expensive than the tour options.
For the adventurous, powder-seeking
skier in the group, an exciting possibility is a heli-skiing trip. This
is somewhat expensive but is reasonable for a person who is searching for
that perfect, untouched snow. Two close companies, Wasatch Powderbird Guides
and Park City Powder Cats & Heli-Ski, Inc. offer heli-skiing services.
If you decide to round up the cash, you can plan on a day full of skiing
along with professional guides. Most full skiing days are filled with six
to seven runs and perhaps around 15,000 vertical ft. covered. Heli-skiing
guests do not need to be extreme skiers, but they do need to have solid
skiing skills and reasonable physical stamina. Call the outfitter you choose
for exact requirements and so you can also book a spot.
Examining this amazing place
from above would be an experience you will never forget. Whether you like
the quietness of sunrise by hot air balloon or the exhilaration of a 2,000
vertical foot descent, it is sure to be amazing. Just think of the memories
you can make in the high, mountain sky!
