Charles Bridge is the oldest in the city and was constructed to replace
the Judith Bridge, badly damaged in the 1342 floods. Construction on the
new bridge started in 1357 and it was completed in 1402. There are fortified
towers at each end of the bridge. The bridge was decorated between 1683
and 1928 with 30 statues of saints.

The Brevnov Monastery was founded in 993, but the current appearance of the Benedictine monastery complex dates back to the 1700s and is constructed in a High Baroque Style.
