Facts
behind French ski accommodation by Groshan Fabiola
Because
of its high versatility and great orientation towards achieving customer
satisfaction, ski accommodation in France is considered one of the top
tourist destinations. In fact, many British holidaymakers consider France
one of the best international destinations because of its varied ski resorts
located in the Alps and the Pyrenees.
Types
of Ski Accommodation in France
Ski
accommodation in France is mostly purpose-built around the ski slopes with
direct access. France has traditionally been acknowledged for having excellent
self-catering ski accommodation. Many apartments and chalets are ski-out
and ski-in something most other ski countries lack. Ski accommodation in
France is no more dominated by self-catering apartments. Recent trends
also seen greater investment in other forms of ski accommodation such as
luxury hotels and catered ski chalets.
French
Ski Accommodation Cost
France
ski accommodation has more scale and as such more capacity driving prices
down, especially outside peak season. Ski accommodation in France is not
cheap, but it tends to be cheaper than other Alpine countries. With the
stronger euro ski accommodation in France might be even more expensive
next season. Self-catering also reduces the ski accommodation cost.
However
if you dine outside your ski apartment, you still have to budget £10-£15
for lunch, £20-£30 for dinner, £6 for a pint and £3
for a soft drink.
Skiing
France
is a popular ski destination for beginners and experienced skiers. Whether
you're a skiing beginner or an experienced skier, you will almost certainly
find slopes to cater for your needs. What ski accommodation in France sometimes
lacks in alpine charm, it more than makes up for in varied skiing from
beginner slopes to ski tours and sensational off-piste. France has also
some of the largest ski domains in Europe and the world. Ski resorts such
as Tignes / Val D'Isere have 300km marked piste and over 100 lifts, whereby
Trois Vallee offering 600km of slopes across 5 ski resorts.

Grenoble, Nice, ski accommodation in France can be reached in less than
4 hours from the UK.
