Is
Cordoba Argentina’s Best Kept Secret? by T. Muster
Argentina remains a preferred
South American destination for tourists from all over the world, as it
offers beautiful landscapes all across the country, from the New 7 Wonders
of Nature candidate Iguazu Falls, to the stunning snow capped Andes Mountains.
Not to mention Ushuaia, normally regarded as the southernmost city in the
world, or the mind-purifying Northwest sceneries. Having said that, there
is yet a major spot often being overlooked:
The
Hills of Cordoba (Sierras de Cordoba).
Well, maybe they are not
that big a secret, but still I cannot help to feel they are underrated!
Bursting with natural charm and countless recreational activities, it's
the perfect place for sightseeing, horseback-riding, trekking and mountain-biking
to name just a few!
If you decide to visit Cordoba,
you will also enjoy a wide range of promenades and arts and crafts fairs,
as well as artistic and cultural events and festivities.
On the other hand, the major
cities (e.g., Cordoba City and Carlos Paz) are full of shopping areas and
even duty-free shopping options for international visitors.
The
province geography is embellished by rivers, hills and valleys and I myself
feel often overwhelmed by the extensive variety of locations to chose from!
It looks like Cordoba has always a new astonishing spot around the corner
yet to be discovered.
Are you fond of Spanish?
You will love the way Cordoba local people speak! Not only are they mainly
friendly and funny but also their accent is very distinctive and mellow!
This is the nicest place on Earth to practice your Spanish!
When to Go:
Although Cordoba is fully
enjoyed during the four seasons, my favorite time to visit is during the
summer, which in the southern hemisphere begins December 21st. That's when
its green hills' beauty shines at its best in my opinion.
Summing up, Cordoba is more
than happy to welcome people willing to spill the beans about this magic
place!
